Asset Recovery for Individuals
All states require financial institutions to report when personal property has been abandoned or unclaimed after a specified period of time. The unclaimed property, or “escheatment,” is then turned over to the state to be held indefinitely for the rightful owner to claim. To date, there are billions of dollars in unclaimed assets being held by states across the nation. The most common types of unclaimed property include:
- Bank accounts and safe deposit box contents
- Stocks, mutual funds, bonds and dividends
- Uncashed checks and wages
- Insurance policies, CD's and trust funds
- Utility deposits and escrow accounts
Keeping it Simple with No Up-front Fees.
At URS, we understand that your time is valuable, so we keep the asset recovery process as simple and streamlined as possible. We locate the client, explain from where the funds have been recovered, and process all the necessary documents to complete the retrieval process. Then we send a notary to a location of the client's choosing to notarize the documents. There are no up-front costs and no fee is charged if the recovery is unsuccessful. When the assets are recovered, the client receives a check for the recovered funds less our 10% service fee.
